Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4x is equipped with an Image Stabilization system that provides up to four shutter speed stops of compensation against camera movement making it ideal for shooting in low-light situations or when use long focal lengths. It also has 3 Image Stabilization modes that optimized for shooting subject. The IS mode consists of a mode ideal for static subjects, one for panning with moving subjects and Exposure Only mode that applies stabilization only during exposure.

The lens provides fast, smooth and pinpoint accurate autofocus by utilizing an internal focusing system, Ultra-sonic motor (USM), high speed CPU and optimized AF algorithms. There is Power Focus mode for smooth, automatic focus shifts which are essential when using the EF 200-400mm f/4 for filmmaking. Not only does it, this lens also features one Fluorite and four Ultra-low Dispersion optical elements that deliver sharper images with fewer chromatic aberrations.

Additionally, Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4x uses Super-spectra lens coatings to minimize ghosting and flare includes a Fluorine coating on the front and rear lens elements to keep the lens from oily smears and fingerprints.
