Canon DPP VS Adobe Lightroom


Oat Vaiyaboon has done some tests comparing the Canon Digital Photo Professional, a free RAW Processing software comes with Canon DSLR cameras to Adobe Lightroom. He concludes;

“As you can see in this picture, LR works a lot better with jpg to bring out the colour while keeping all the detail that otherwise blown out to bits in the clouds and sandpit. Again, because DPP only have 3 sliders VS LR which has 10millions slider to keep you busy for the next few years. BUT When it comes to RAW processiong, DPP give you more natural loooking colour with less fringing, noise, colour information, details, etc then LR or PS raw converter for that matter. RAWs - Canon’s Digital Photo Professional wins; JPGs - Adobe’s Lightroom wins”
