I have porchased the Canon Powershot A480 and I have this to say about it:

First it uses common batteries, AA, I think, so you can replace the batteries atwill and everyone has these kinds of batteries. In fancy cameras you have to recharde a fancy battery. This means worry. But not with this camera. Well done!

Second the memory chip is easily installed, upgraded and so on. It is super easy to deal with. Also the memory card can fit any memory card reader, so again it has universal compatiability. Well done!

Third and most importantly you do not need to fight the technology, it is fairly easy to use. If you want to take photo's it is simple to do. Laste at night, if you want to filldle with it, the camera can make small movies. But you need a large memory card, maybe 8 gigs or so.

Finally this, the camera is trustworthy, and can deal with a lot of jolts.

If you want a camera for the road get this one, after all, if you get a 64 GB chip ( and there are such things) I think the camera is good for about one month without cleaning the chip.

I have taken, and this is true, over 12,000 photographs with this camera and it has never let me down. I think if it had any more features I would not have bought it.

You can mak, as I have said, some small, very small point and click movies. But these are only for suvonier clips, or making small thumbnail movies. The movies play back on all software mediums.

But seems impossible to get a electric plug connector. This is needed if you want to make a longer movie clip without using battery power.

This cmera is as good as it gets without having to buy extra special chips and stuff. It is also 10 mpx. Very cool. It can take small, mdium or large pictures, has a self timer and other things.

At the beach my friends worry about their powersource. with this camera you just change the batteries. The 32kb Chip, which comes free is useless, but a good demo. get at least a 2 GIG, ideally an 8 GIG. You can burn it stright to CD, easily too.

This is a "buy 2" product for the a mature photographer. I am sure they will add more things to it and spoil it.
