hi i am using 5d mark2 since last mounth i noticed in studio light.with 1/200 shutter speed
some black strip like 1/2 shutter kind of thing but canon anouncied flash senconrined speed 1/200. n shutter speed 1/160 there no problem

Shooting at 1080P in the various settings, (Landscape, etc) well, if you want realism, it ain’t landscape. Standard is ok, but still shows some sharpening. So, being new at the game at this level, What’s the real resolution of this camera? (I shoot pics in raw) You can say well, 21. megs, but I mean the K factor, like the “Red” cine camera is around 4K. yes I can blow the video up to my 70 inch front screen size and not see any jaggies, etc. But simple and pure sharpness from a normal setting really isn’t there, compared to looking at large prints made from a 2 & 1/4 camera. So, somewhere along the line, are we being sold a bill of goods about sharpness and resolution? Would the same Canon L prime lenses used on the 5D Mark II give me higher resolution if I used them with 50 ASA film stock?
What I’m really saying, is that when I watch local programing here in the bay area, like back Roads, etc. The stuff is shot on HD video, butlooks way sharper than what I see on the Canon 5D, and still shows no sign of noise, sharpening, edge halos etc. Are those sensors larger, or is it something else about them?

I really don’t know, so you can tell me…Doesn’t the digital bnack hae a lot todo with the frames per second speed? And if you think about it…in movie mode at 1080P, you’ve got 30 frames per second.
What I’m really interested in, is resolution. Seems using the most realistic setting for shooting, (WHich is not landscape) the movies are not that sharp. Perhaps using closeup will help that…so, if the “Red” sytem is the state of the art these days, and is around 4k, what’s the canon shooting at, or resolving at, and the big question is, if I used the L lenses on a canon film camera, would the pics be sharper if I used a 50 ASA film, etc? Or have higher res?

I also noticed, as some other reports have mentioned, a slight problem with Chromatic Aberration, aka “Purple Fringing,” in certain high-contrast, boundary areas in my images, such as around tree branches. This is less excusable and, unfortunately, more problematic than the black dot issue because it can be caused at the microlens level in the CMOS sensor itself.

I am ready to buy a new camera. My main concern is image quality, sharpness, being able to enlarge and taking pix in low light. Which is better the nikon 700 or the new canon 5d mark II?
