Canon EOS 5D Infrared Conversion Instruction

Lifepixel has written an instruction for those who just bought this $3000 camera, and have a gut to remove the hot mirror assembly inside the camera.

By removing the hot mirror, the camera acts pretty much typical. Fast shutters, regular exposures, etc. It eliminates the need to tripod mount and do multi-second exposures, like is necessary with a filter setup.

Basically this is what you have to do:

First you need to lift out your brand new $3000 camera’s LCD. If you still don’t have it, you can buy it here for $3,299.99
