“The Canon T1I is great with no flash, low light shots, and the on camera flash is not too bad for less than 6′ shots. But, for even better shots indoors, I use the 430 EX II and bounce it off the ceiling – which helps minimize harsh shadows and produces a nice natural looking shot. WOW, just plain WOW! | Rating:
“It integrates flawlessly with my camera for one stop control instead of adjusting the flash and camera separately like I was used to. I use the Energizer Lithium batterys in it and it recycles quickly and continuously. The batterys seem like they last forever compared to my old SunPak flash with alkalines. The foot for attaching it to my camera is well designed and much easier with the cam-lock than my old flashes with the “jam-nuts”.” – By wise1owl

“I can use this flash on the XSi and the 7D and it works perfectly. I prefer to manage the settings via the camera and almost always use it as bounce flash with a diffuser. Hi-speed sync is a great feature to have for fill-flash. “I am so glad I went with this Speedlite rather than go cheap and get a compatible “off brand” light. Quality is excellent. It’s pretty easy to use, just pop it on your camera and go. I have only used it for a short time but the quality of my photos has improved dramatically specially when I use it off camera wirelessly. “They are out of focus. Some by a little and others by quite a bit. A heavier camera helps you hold the camera steady. And you can’t always rely on a faster shutter speed or ISO to compensate for camera shake and a tripod/uni-pod is not always an option. Accept the little extra weight and take better pictures. The flash is very flexible. I would say that I could shoot a party in a hall or auditorium with great confidence. You won’t regret buying this flash.” – By Larry Spisak

Canon Speedlite 430EX II Features & Specifications

Bringing a new level of versatility and capability to flash photography, the Speedlite 430EX II features a powerful flash (guide number of 141 ft./43m at ISO 100) with a fast recycling time in a compact, durable body. A one-touch quick-lock mechanism makes it easy to attach or detach the 430EX II from the camera and a metal foot has been added for strength and durability. Flash controls can now be set through the camera’s LCD screen on compatible EOS Digital SLR cameras. The Speedlite 430EX II is also quieter, recycle time is 20% faster (as compared to the 430EX) and since it is compatible with Canon’s wireless E-TTL, it can be used as an affordable “slave unit”.
