Serves its purpose
“I’ll call the Benro 90% of the Gitzo quality for 40% of the price. For me it’s a great compromise; tall enough for anyone up to 6’2″ or more to use without extending the center column, stable enough for a D3 with 14-24mm or 80-200mm lenses even when fully extended well above my head (I’m using a Markins M10 head and Kirk L brackets). On my scale it weighs just 7.5oz more than my Manfrotto 190xb which requires crouching even fully extended, a great plus for carbon.” – By Benjo

Stable tripod without lift center column
“The tripod is a great one for its stability. The workmanship is great, and the design is dadicated. However, these are under the assumption that its center column is unlifted. After raising the center column, this tripd becomes an unstable one because of the not-so-good design. Fortunately, the tripod is tall enough with a ball head mounted, thus I could easily use it without central column lifted (I am 6′ 3″, using both eye level and waist level view founder). The tripod is also great for its price. In terms of legs, they are not worse than Gitzo ones. The legs provide stable support and fastening. Better than Gitoz, the leg tubes have dust free design.” – By YiF
