Fujifilm XQ1

Fujifilm has recently contributed to heat the pocket camera market with the launch of Fujifilm XF1 XQ1 as successor. Fujifilm claims that this camera is more portable than ever. Fujifilm XQ1 have a slightly similar design but with a few upgrades XF1 on features to improve image quality and higher performance. This camera uses a high-grade sensor of 12 megapixels award-winning X-Trans CMOS II 2/3-inch sized and combined with EXR Processor II processor to produce high quality images with fast performance. In addition, other features that have been improved include 3.0-inch LCD with 920k-dot resolution, Full HD 1080p video recording at 60fps, WiFi connectivity, and the ability of continuous shooting up to 12fps. While the features are still the same as the previous model is the Fujinon 4x Optical Zoom lens f/1.8-4.9, hybrid AF system, Film Simulation and Advanced Filter.

Fujifilm X-E2

Having successfully launched the Fujifilm X-E1 last year, Fujifilm is now re-launching the next generation of cameras. Fujifilm X-E2 was launched by Fujifilm on October 18, 2013 as the next generation of X-E1. X-E2 comes with many improvements from its predecessors such as the built-in WiFi with a dedicated button on the top of the camera, increasing the ability to record Full HD 1080p at 60fps. Not only that, this camera uses a sensor 16.3 Megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS II which utilizes a color filter array that has a more random pattern of the Bayer array and remove the optical low-pass filter to produce sharp images and high resolution. LCD screen has also been improved with the 3.0-inch size and 1040k-dot resolution, and the ability to shoot continuously up to 7fps.

Nikon D5300

Nikon D5300 is a new DSLR camera from Nikon which was launched less than a year after launching the Nikon D5200. When compared with the D5200, D5300 comes with several new features such as a larger screen, eliminating the optical low-pass filter, and use the wireless connectivity and GPS. This new camera also has some features in common with previous models such as the 24.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor DX-Format, 4 EXPEED processor, Full HD 1080p video recording at 60 frames per second, up to 5fps Continuous Shooting, 39-point autofocus system, ISO 25600 Sensitivity , and Active D-Lighting and a built-in HDR. This camera will be available on the market with a price range of $796.95 in mid-November 2013.

Canon PowerShot G16

Canon PowerShot G16 is a new Point and Shot camera that announced on 21 August’13 for replacing the previous model PowerShot G15. The G16 is identical to G15. It just adds new features such as WiFi Connectivity and the new DIGIC 6 Image Processing Engine that promises better high ISO sensitivity performance up to 12800. Canon claims that the PowerShot G16 has better performance than previous model by use the new processor that provides continuous shooting rate of 9.3 fps for over 500 shots. This camera will be available on the market from October 2013.

Pentax K-3

Pentax K-3 is a new DSLR camera from Pentax which released in October 2013. This camera is a big step from Pentax that is offering a variety of improvements and significant changes from previous model. Pentax K-3 has a new sensor, a new body design, a new AF system, new metering system, as well as improved performance. By offering those improvement this camera is expected to compete in the market with a classy cameras such as Canon and Nikon. This camera will be available in the market starting November 2013 with a price range of $1,296.95 (Body only).

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM1

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM1 is a new Micro Four Thirds camera launched by Panasonic on October 17, 2013. This camera has a body design that is small, even smaller than the Pentax Q7 and offers quality images with the same performance as GX7. GM1 is equipped with a sensor 16 Megapixel Digital Live Mos combined with Venus Engine processor and use the Micro Four Thirds system. In addition, there is also a 3.0-inch touch screen, recording Full HD 1080i AVCHD video at 60fps, Wireless connectivity, light speed AF and Focus Peaking, ISO25600 and continuous shooting mode of up to 5fps. As the camera is designed for enthusiast users who want a design that is smaller than a DSLR, but is able to produce better image quality than compact system cameras and smartphones, Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM1 offer a compact body design made of Magnesium Alloy.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 is a compact camera system recently launched by Sony on 16 Okotober 2013. The camera is equipped with a 1-inch Exmor R CMOS sensor 20.2 Megapixel resolution the same as RX100 II but more powerful thanks to the combination with the BIONZ processor X to produce high quality images with fast performance. In addition, the RX10 also has a Carl Zeiss lens 24-200mm f/2.8, 3.0-inch Xtra Fine display monitor that can be tilted out, XGA OLED electronic viewfinder, and the ability to record Full HD 1080 / p at 60 and 24fps. As for the connectivity, this camera offers a built-in wireless and NFC that allows you to transfer image files. And several other features such as ISO125-12800, hot-shoe and the control ring and Super Sonicwave Motor for fast autofocus. This camera went on sale with a price range of $1,298.00 at the end of November 2013.

Nikon D610

After receiving several complaints about dust and oil on the Nikon D600, Nikon has now officially announced the successor to the cameras with the introduction of the Nikon D610. As a successor to the camera, the D610 is expected to address user complaints on the previous model. The camera is also added several improvements such as continuous shooting of 5.5fps to 6fps, and in quiet mode to 3fps. And improvements in white balance settings to produce a more natural color on bright blue sky conditions. It also added weather-sealing as the Nikon D800
