2011 National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest

The 23rd annual National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest is now open for entry to individuals who have reached the age of majority. Entries are $15 from April 5 to June 27, and an additional $10 per entry from June 28 to July 11. You can submit your digital files in any of these four categories:

1. Travel Portraits: Locals working, playing, celebrating
2. Outdoor Scenes: Landscapes, aerials, wildlife, waterscapes
3. Sense of Place: Pictures that evoke the essence of a place
4. Spontaneous Moments: Fun, quirky, surprising, and unrehearsed moments

Winning images will be showcased in the November/December 2011 issue of National Geographic Traveler magazine. You’ll also have a chance at winning one of these amazing prizes:

First prize
Fourteen-day expedition for two to the British and Irish Isles aboard the National Geographic Explorer
